NYGÅRD Cay hosts Songwriters Festival NOV3

NOV3 – NOV8-05 – Peter Nygård hosted country music’s foremost writers & artists who performed at the 2nd Annual Songwriters Festival "Main Event" in Nassau. The Festival provided an opportunity to write & present material in a tranquil Caribbean setting.


Famous songwriters performed a few of their top hits such as: Tim Nichols, Sherrie Austin, Chuck Cannon, Vicky McGehee, Brett James, Kylie Sackley, Will Rambeaux, Andy Griggs & Conchita Lee Flang. Their award winning songs have hit the top of the charts by Toby Keith, Reba McEntire, Kenny Chesney/ Uncle Kracker, Dolly Parton, Alan Jackson & Faith Hill.


Festival co-founder Mary Loving of BMI, said "The Bahamas welcomed us so warmly in our first year & we were particularly appreciative of Peter Nygård for hosting us at his resort. Mr. Nygård has rolled out the carpet for us again this year & as a result of his dedication & commitment, we have renamed the festival, NYGÅRD Cay Songwriters Festival."

New talent was discovered here last year & I look forward to continuing to support this wonderful production which brings first class international exposure to the Bahamas ." The Great American Country TV Network filmed the event & showcased the acclaimed songwriters / artists on the program named 'Country Across America' reaching an estimated audience of 42M viewers.
