The
Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Run for the Cure 2006 was the MOST
SUCCESSFUL Run EVER in its 15 year history. Over 170,000 enthusiastic
Canadians walked & ran in 50 communities across the country. As of SUN
OCT1, a record $23.4M was raised to help create a future WITHOUT breast
cancer!!!
Peter
Nygård & NYGÅRD International have been supporting the fight
against breast cancer for well over a decade now & it is absolutely our
corporate 'Charity of Choice'.
2006 is NYGÅRD's
6th year as a NATIONAL CHAMPION Sponsor & to date NYGÅRD has
provided over 950,000 T-shirts to all of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Run for the Cure participants across Canada!

4 years ago, in addition to the white Participant Run T-shirts, NYGÅRD
wanted to do something special for BREAST CANCER SURVIVORS: A pink
SURVIVOR T-shirt.

The 'sea of pink' seen on Run Day stirred mixed emotions … We
felt a tinge of sadness because of what this colour has come to represent
... lives lost & lives changed because of breast cancer. BUT we also
felt Joy & Antipicipation because every speck of pink at every Run
site across the country represented a Victory & HOPE for the future.

Technology, science, medical breakthroughs & each survivor gives us
hope that a cure will be found to put an END to breast cancer. The VISUAL
message expressed through the # of survivors who wore these pink T-shirts
on Run Day emphasizes & highlights the importance of raising funds to
support research, so that in years to come, our children &
grand-children will not have to wear a pink T-shirt because a much needed
cure will have been found. Until that day comes ... & it WILL ... we
at NYGÅRD pledge our CONTINUING support!
