The RUN 2003 was held in 39 sites across Canada on SUN OCT5 & broke every record & expectation by raising in excess of $17M for Breast Cancer Research & Awareness.  The Run involved 160,000+ participants; NYGÅRD Associates in every city across the country were participants as well ... all walking, running & raising funds toward a cure for Breast Cancer.

For this year's run, Team NYGÅRD - led by our Chairman Peter Nygård, wanted to do something special for the SURVIVORS: 'A SURVIVOR t-shirt'. The Breast Cancer SURVIVOR t-shirts, featuring the CBCF pink ribbon, were distributed to 15,000 women & men who participated in The Run 2003. These t-shirts provided the SURVIVORS with a chance to proudly identify themselves & dramatically show just how many people are affected by breast cancer.

“I will wear the NYGÅRD Breast Cancer SURVIVOR t-shirt & pink ribbon with pride,” said Sarah Ray, a 24-year-old who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2002 & who has been in remission since JAN. “I’m proud that I’ve won the battle & I know that others are too."

NYGÅRD also donated the t-shirts worn by all other Run participants. Since becoming a national sponsor of the Run for the Cure in 2001, Nygård has donated 500,000+ t-shirts for the cause.

The Run for the Cure is the CBCF's largest national fundraising event supporting the advancement of breast cancer research, education, diagnosis & treatment & marks the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in OCT.
